Staff Spotlight: Destinie Hernandez

Welcome to Staff Spotlight! Here we honor special members of the FACT staff who help our community and give them the kudos they deserve!

This month, we celebrate Destinie Hernandez. Destinie supports one-on-one with college student Christian on areas like mobility training and college prep like campus navigation and safety plans and strategies.

FACT recently received a call from Christian’s mother about how Destinie has touched Christian’s and her lives. With her permission, we’d like to share that wonderful message:

“I just wanted to let you know that Destinie, who is working with my son Christian has done a spectacular job. I want to commend her for her hard work in working with young adults with Autism. She has supported him in learning and feeling confident while utilizing the bus system, navigating his college campus, and getting back home safely.

It doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal, but it’s a triumph for a kid with special needs. I couldn’t do it without her. I just wanted to let you and the organization members know, that Destinie is a sweet employee. If I could give her the world, I would. I appreciate her, and everything she does for my son. Most of all, she makes his life and ours a lot easier.
