Community-Based Day Program

FACT provides a range of community-based day programs that empower adults with developmental disabilities to pursue their personal goals and improve their overall quality of life. With a staff-to-participant ratio of 1:3, our programs offer personalized support and meaningful opportunities for growth in education, employment, and social engagement.
San Fernando Valley/North Los Angeles Region (College Sites)
The San Fernando/North Los Angeles regional program focuses on college success and social skills development for adults with developmental disabilities. To participate, individuals must be currently enrolled in college or have immediate plans to enroll. Services include:
- On-campus college support: FACT staff provide hands-on support at local colleges, including CSUN, Los Angeles Mission College, Los Angeles Valley College, and Los Angeles Pierce College. Support includes navigating campus resources, registering for classes, and connecting with professors, counselors, tutors, and other departments.
- Educational exploration: Participants are encouraged to explore various academic opportunities and are supported in their coursework through assignment tracking, meeting preparation, and advocacy for academic accommodations.
- Social skills support:In addition to academic assistance, the program places a strong emphasis on building social connections. Through workshops, community outings, and structured social events, participants build relationships, develop communication skills, and foster a sense of belonging.
Westwood Village
The Westwood site program is designed primarily to support social skills development and does not require college enrollment. It offers a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can build meaningful relationships and strengthen their interpersonal abilities. Key features of the Westwood program include:
- Social skills workshops: Participants engage in workshops focused on enhancing communication, fostering healthy relationships, and increasing social awareness.
- Community integration: Through regular outings and activities, participants are encouraged to engage with the broader community, promoting inclusion and a sense of belonging.
- Individualized Support: Services are personalized to meet each participant’s unique needs, providing the right level of guidance to help them grow socially and confidently navigate real-world interactions.
