Navigating College Classes and Accommodations
We help participants navigate college environments, including understanding class requirements, accessing accommodations, and interfacing with professors and campus resources.
Our support includes:
- Academic Planning: Collaborating with college counselors to assist with course selection and registration.
- Accommodation Coordination: Helping participants register for disability services and set up approved accommodations like extended test time, note-taking, and in-class support.
- Campus Resource Navigation: Guiding participants on using campus resources like tutoring centers and libraries.
- Develop Schedules: Creating daily, weekly, and semester-long schedules.
- Prioritize Tasks: Identifying and prioritizing academic and work tasks.
- Organize Materials: Keeping track of assignments, deadlines, and important documents.
- Prepare for Meetings: Assisting participants in preparing for meetings with professors, tutors, and counselors.

Job Exploration and Interest Assessments
We help participants identify their passions, explore career paths, and discover their strengths through volunteer and internship opportunities. Once a suitable career path is identified, we assist participants in securing Competitive Integrated Employment job leads through traditional or customized employment. Understanding one’s interests and strengths is the first step towards a fulfilling career.
Our services include:
- Interest Assessments: Tools and activities to help participants identify their vocational interests.
- Job Exploration: Opportunities to explore various career paths through informational interviews, job shadowing, and internships.
- Resume Writing: Crafting resumes that highlight skills, experiences, and achievements.
- Interview Preparation: Practicing interview techniques, including answering common questions and presenting oneself professionally.
- Job Coaching: Providing on-site support to help participants adapt to their work environment and responsibilities.
- Workplace Skill Building: Developing skills necessary for job performance, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Paid Internship Program (PIP)
FACT offers a Paid Internship Program through the Regional Center. This program helps individuals gain valuable work experience and increase employment opportunities. Interns must have an employment goal in their regional center IPP.
FACT is vendored with both Westside Regional Center and North Los Angeles County Regional Center. If you are affiliated with a different regional center, we can assist in requesting a courtesy vendorship to provide services.
