Who is TED and Why is He So Excited about FACTx?
By Linda Andron-Ostrow, LCSW
Yes, he is a talking bear that’s has starred in two movies. But the TED I’m referring to is a series of short talks of 15 to 18 minutes on various subjects with the aim to teach and expand people’s minds. You may have seen TED’s videos all over the Internet and make up conferences all over the world.
TED himself was not available as he works for a corporation. But he did think that the idea of sharing the knowledge that makes up the “family” that is FACT was a great idea.
We will be gathering on October 14 and 15th at the Electric Lodge in Venice to hear from 30 speakers. Some of them are names you might recognize, but most will be new to you and will bring you new information, insights and inspiration.
The T in Ted’s name stands for technology, which we will be using this to everyone’s advantage. The conference will be live streamed so you can elect to watch it from your home. Through the kind graces of Frank D Lanterman Regional Center, clients will be able to gather at the Koch Resource Center to watch together.
The E in his name stands for entertainment. At the close of the conference you will be treated to a small performance by the Miracle Project, and for those on site at our evening mixer you will be treated to the sounds of Jazz Hands for Autism .
The D in his name stands for design. We have attempted to design this conference to give you information about a wide range of topics including a great deal about the arts. Please click here to see the full program.
If your agency wants to register at the conference, please contact me at [email protected] or my assistant at [email protected].
We look forward to having you join us either in person or virtually!
