GAP Spotlight: Meet David

By David, GAP Program Member
An passionate artist inspired by the natural world and the unknown.
David is a member of the GAP program who’s artistic talent inspires everyone who sees it. He recently was on our Los Angeles Public Library tour, AUTISM FEELS, where he shared insights about how his autism diagnosis helps him to see the world differently. He shares this vision through his art.
David works well with most mediums – from pencil & paper to finger & iPad. With any tools, David’s work is so great, it’s wearable. Pictured below is a stencil design he created, which was bleach-dyed onto a black shirt. Pictured on David is a he designed a shirt with a butterfly composed of puzzle pieces for Autism Awareness. It went flying off the shelves at We Rock the Spectrum.
When David is not drawing, he goes to the GAP program, volunteers at the Salvation Army, works at We Rock The Spectrum, and goes to school at SMC. If you would like to learn more about David’s work, or talk to him about a possible t-shirt design, please click here.
