Happy February to all members of our extended FACT family!
If you haven’t floated away yet in our unusually wet January, we hope all is well with you and yours.
Since our fiscal year runs from July through June, we have passed the midpoint of our year. The board has been hard at work and has recently approved our annual audit, which you can see at our website or by clicking here. The board has also approved our refreshed and improved mission statement for FACT. It reads:
FACT provides evidence-based services to people of all ages living with developmental disabilities or other behavioral health conditions and their families aimed at promoting inclusion and choice, and maximizing quality of life. Outreach, volunteer opportunities and professional training programs are dedicated to fostering community participation and advancing public awareness and acceptance of individual differences.
This statement truly encompasses all that FACT offers and our goals in a clear and concise way. Thanks to the board members who worked hard to get it right. The breadth of our direct services to individuals of all ages and to families, and the important services we provide to new professionals in the field and the community, are clearly evident. The statement sets us apart from all other organizations in the greater region.
As I’ve shared in previous columns, the programming and the number of FACT clients continues to grow. With nearly 150 individual clients and dozens of family members being served today, our programs are an essential aid to enable people living with differing abilities to be all they can be, and an assist for families needing to locate and access every appropriate service.
Please keep in mind that our board is seeking additional new members to join its ranks and to become non-board members of committees. The board is the ultimate guiding force for FACT and its members work hard to govern, support and promote our services. If anyone is interested in learning more about leadership options, please contact me at [email protected]
Things are exciting yet challenging for FACT and our clients as we settle into “a new normal” of confusing and uncertain times. The one thing that hasn’t changed is our bedrock dedication to our clients and families.
To our supporters, we thank you all for your many types of sustenance that makes it all possible.
